Angular restrictions

Time needed: 1 hour.
Difficulty: Intermediate

In an earlier tutorial we explored the creation with points with constraints so as to build geometrical objects with certain properties. In this tutorial we revisit this matter, but with a twist: we now want to be able to built a segment that has an angular constraint. For example, building a vector that will only make an angle or 30, 45 or 60 degrees with a horizontal line. This isn't an immediate consequence of TI-Nspire's tools and requires some criterious use of several tools, especially Redefine.

The main application of this technique is the creation of vectors to represent forces or any other physical quantity and keeping the angles at well defined values or building a model for an inclined inclined plane or other structures.

This tutorial is ranked as Intermediate, which means it's reccommended only for TI-Nspire users with some experience. It's also reccommended that unexperienced users participate in a training course, like the ones described on the Training Courses section of the site.
