Conics

Time needed: 40 minutes.
Difficulty: Easy

In this tutorial we explore the Locus tool to build the three conics: ellipse, hyperbola and parabola. In each construction our start point is the geometric definition of the curve, as locus of points with a certain property.

This allows us to explore some basic design concepts of geometric constructions, defining objects with our desired properties and hiding all unnecessary objects so as to keep the construction as clear as possible.

In this tutorial the strategies are mentioned beforehand, emphasizing the importance of proper planning before starting to build complex objects.

This tutorial is ranked as Easy, but shouldn't be tried out by absolute beginners. If you're just starting out with TI-Nspire you should first attend a training course about TI-Nspire to learn your ways around the interface, document system and menus.
